The Tony Awards Return in Live Multi-platform Event, September 26 on CBS and Paramount+
Curtains up! On September 26, Broadway fans will be able to watch the 74th annual Tony Awards, followed by a live concert event celebrating the return of live theatre, on CBS and Paramount+. Immediately after the awards presentation hosted by Audra McDonald, the Tony Awards® will present Broadway’s Back!, a multi-platform celebration of the best of Broadway, a unique special program that will celebrate the return to live theatre with unforgettable performances and commemorate the 74th Annual Tony Awards hosted by Leslie Odom, Jr. Together, these events will comprise an unprecedented, four-hour event across multiple platforms.
The events will take place at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre. It’s the second time the awards have been held at that venue, the first time being in 1975 for the 29th Tony Awards.

The 74th Annual Tony Awards
This landmark Broadway evening will kick off with the live presentation of the American Theatre Wing’s 74th Annual Tony Awards® (Sunday, September 26 at 7:00 pm ET/4:00 pm PT), live exclusively on Paramount+.
The streaming presentation hosted by current nominee and six-time past Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald will honor the outstanding shows, performances, and artistry of the 2019—2020 Broadway season, which was brought to a halt by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.

The Tony Awards Present: Broadway’s Back!
Immediately following, The Tony Awards Present: Broadway’s Back! (Sunday, September 26 from 9:00 to 11:00 pm ET/PT) will air on the CBS Television Network, and be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+ and the CBS app.
Past Tony Award-winner Leslie Odom, Jr. will host a program that will bring the excitement of Broadway to viewers through a live concert event featuring superstar Broadway entertainers and Tony Award-winners reuniting on stage to perform beloved classics and celebrate the joy and magic of live theatre. The concert will celebrate re-opening of Broadway with special performances from the three Tony-nominated Best Musical contenders, followed by the live presentation of three Tony Awards, including Best Play, Best Revival of a Play, and Best Musical. Other winners will be celebrated throughout the broadcast.

The Tony Awards® Present: Broadway’s Back! will be produced in collaboration with Tony Award Productions, a joint venture of The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, and White Cherry Entertainment, the team behind the annual Tony Awards telecast. Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss are executive producers for White Cherry Entertainment. Weiss will serve as director.
